IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN

The Tour De France is upon us once again. WHY? Why Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love it as much as the next person. What I hate is the super commuters who get riled up and think that they are Cadel and want to have a race off every red light. I'm not interested. And please for the love of God put your kits away.

SIM'S EDDIE MERCKX

Bike: 1992 Eddy Merckx Pista Corsa Extra
Owner: Me!
Location: eBay Belgium

I picked up this gem last night on eBay, and although I am sleep deprived today I can't stop smiling like a fat kid who just found the Tim Tam tin hidden in the pantry.

Pearl and Chrome... could you ask for a better combo?

I'm in love. May need that napkin for my chair again.

The bike's original owner was Fabien de Waele who rode for the Lotto team in the early 90s. He has ridden The Tour three times! Fabien must have mad respect for bikes as this frame has barely a scratch.

I can't wait to start building this up!

Here's a flashback for the 80's babies out there... look at the red and blue graphics on the seat tube:

They fully remind me of the Curiosity Show. FUCK I used to love that show (NEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD)

Shout outs to the ATO for making my dreams a reality

SLAY THE RAIL

Bike: BMX's - stacks of them!
Location: Revolver Upstairs Chapel St
Owners: Groms

You may remember this post that we did about the first bmx comp to be held in a nightclub. Well the boys are back for this years installment, and I didn't have to scoot off early to pack for Splendour this year. Bonus!

Ever since my camera was stolen I made a promise to myself, and to you our 3 loyal readers, that I wouldn't resort to posting dodgy iPhone snaps however these were just too good to pass up.

So many bikes, not nearly enough poles.

The obligatory safety warning. A flying BMX will hurt if it flies through the air and lands on your face.

I kinda wish that a flying bike hit these two classy ladies, who were clearly there because they are so passionate about BMX. I like your dress, is that from GASP?

Couldn't have said it better myself. Want.

Here is a video that was not taken with my phone:

Rad night all round, nice one boys

MELB CENT TOP TUBE FLAIR

Bike: Top Tube Flair
Location: Asian Central
Owner: TBC!!! Email us if this is you

Spotted this sweet ride on our shopping trip into the cbd for new shades.

Top tube pad looks cool... but what's the purpose? Apart from looking cool?

So your thigh is comfy when resting at lights because you can't track stand like me?

To protect your top tube from scratches when you chain it up?

Or purely for aesthetics?

I'm intrigued

BIRTHDAY LOVE

Was lucky enough to get a kick ass tribute piece for my birthday!

YBIR got a sweet shout out!

Thanks B and A!!!!

THRASHER BIKE

Bike: Thrasher ILL Bike
Location: Vogue Plaza, South Yaz
Owner: Jake

This is the bike that Thrasher Boy would ride if he didn't drive to General Pants every day.
What struck me is the amazing rims and super fat tires, put that in your pipe and smoke it tram tracks!

Noice.

This is actually the first time that I have been busted snapping a bike by the owner. I was kneeling on the pavement to get the above shot and I just saw two feet in my peripheral. How embarrasment!

Wanted to run away, but...

You can't keep running awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy

COLOUR BLOCKER

Bike: Colour Blocker
Location: IKEA Carpark Richmond
Owner: TBC, email us if this is you

Colour Blocking is soooooo Feb 2011, all the cool kids are getting on board.

Who didn't learn this in primary school art class?

ON TREND: How cool is this starfuckers saddle?

Does anyone know where you can still get these?

I snapped this bike when I popped in to Goldcross to pump up my tire which had annoyingly become flat on the yarra trail.
I actually took the pic with Loz in mind as she is currently throwing around some ideas for her new build that is going to be influenced by a popular toy released in the 1970s. I can't give to much away at this point in time, but mark my words- her new bike is going to be beautiful.

I love the simple primary colour palette of this ride, the simplicity works so well on many levels.

I am also a massive fan of this colour blocking trend:

GETTING ON BOARD.
How rad:

I think I need more colour in my life... Melbourne fashion is so black and grey, it gets a bit gloomy like our weather!

THE GREEN MACHINE

Bike: The Green Machine
Location: Melbourne
Owner: Brenton Clarke

Big thanks to Brenton for sending through pics of his gorgeous steed. I popped in to his shop with my poodle Ziggy in tow for a visit. The colourway reminds me of the incredible hulk and this bike that I learnt how to ride fixed on.

This is what a colab of Brenton's bike x Ziggy would look like:

Ha ha as if you would ever do that to your pooch! Poor dawg :(

Brenton has now retired this bike and is using the wheels on his new ride, which I LOVE, so much it's crim.

The Green Machine is just taking 5, hanging out in the garage where all good bikes go to die... RIP little friend:

TOMS TREASURES

OOPS

I was flicking through my camera and realised that I totally forgot to post these beauties... I am so lame

These bikes both belong to Tom who lives with OCGC member and all around sick chick Georgie.

We took the bikes for a spin out the front - you can get massive air off the second bike over the speed bumps in their street... RAD

OLDIE BUT A GOODIE.

Bike: Damo's Vintaaaaage Fixed Gear
Location: My front stoop
Owner: Damo aka "The Business"

Yo! Big thanks to Damo for lending me this trusty steed for the last 6 months.

I borrowed this bike right before Splendour and thought that I would have it for like a month. Try 6. I have finally got my new bike on the road and it's time to give this one back.

I learnt how to ride again on this bike, and I clocked over 2,500km- Good Times

Thanks dudeface

JUICY FRUITS

Bike: Juicy Fruits
Location: The Evelyn, Brunswick St
Owner: Alastair

Loz and I were doing our best to ride off the HUGE breakfast that we ate on Sunday. All was well and good until we became thirsty so we stopped for jugs at the Evelyn.

We had only been there a short while when we were graced with this beauty. Wowza the colour of those Aero's really popps off so nicely against the chrome Bianchi frame. Get me a napkin for my seat.

I heart the Joocy, this is one of my favourite videos OF ALL TIME:

Whut Whueert hollaaa!!!

Yo your mates bikes were pretty rad too...

MINT SLICE

Bike: Mint Slice
Location: Bruns on a Suns
Owner: TBC; email fool if this is you

Spring has sprung in Melbourne and I spotted this lovely last sunny Sunday on Brunswick St.

It is pretty fresh, minty fresh. The chrome and clover green colourway reminds me of Mint Slice biscuits. They form part of Nick's regular diet and there's always a pack in the fridge.

The oxford style grips and saddle add a nice contrast to the green. It's like brown and green was a match made in heaven:

OMFG YUM to the billion squared, how good do they look?

Even Schapelle's on the MS train:
